australian-and-new-zealand-urological-nurses-societyThe Australian and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society (ANZUNS) is a special interest nursing society, which aims to promote excellence in urology nursing through research, education, mentoring and the identification of standards of nursing care. The society supports nurses within Australasia practicing in urology through its educational forums, national meetings, networking and dissemination of information.
ANZUNS represents urological nurses in a variety of work settings, from nurse practitioners to enrolled nurses. AUNS has 800 members based in WA, SA, TAS, VIC, NSW, QLD and New Zealand.
The aim of ANZUNS is to coordinate at a national level an annual meeting of urology nurses. This forum, held in conjunction with the Urological Society of Australasia's Annual Meeting, enables urology nurses to meet together. This meeting is now of international standard and provides exposure to current international and local trends in urological practice, as well as a major medical industry exhibition. Nurses present their work based on both research and clinical levels.
The mission/values of ANZUNS is to provide a communication network between Australian states and New Zealand Urological Nursing Societies. Maintain affiliation with international urological nurses's organisations. Support and provide educational opportunities. Promote nursing research. Facilitate access to relevant resource material. Promote the role of the urology nurse in diverse areas of health care. Identify and promote standards of urological nursing practice. ANZUNS is an incorporated body.
